Kristen Egan Masks

One of the most surprising discoveries I've had since Forbidden Gifts has been the variety of original mask artists. Growing up Minneapolis, I was lucky enough to experience In the Heart of the Beast theater. A community based theater project with a recognizable style of paper machete puppets. They were a bit frightening as a kid but impactful in helping me appreciate a little spook.

Artist Kristen Egan continues to create their own brand of mysticism in their masks. Make no mistake, these are not paper machete.
